So, I have never been a big fan of snowboarding. I have always thought it was cool. I always got jealous of everyone who always went when I was younger. I have only went once before when I was about ten with some of my brothers. Do I even remember it? No. (Due to many, many concussions..) Anyways, since I moved to Cedar I have met different people and so on. It so happens that two of my very best friends, Jordan and Curtis, are snowboard-a-holics. You may not think there is such a thing but trust me, there is. Every movie they want to watch when it isn't snowboarding season is about snowboarding. When it is the season, I don't see them. They pretty much live on the mountain. They live and breathe snowboarding. It isn't bad to love something. So I thought why not? It sounds so fun and I love trying new things. :) So for my birthday I decided I would go and go with some people that I love...
December 3rd: I went snowboarding for let's just say my first time since ten year olds are losers... Well, I was anyways. Everyone said the weather was horrible. They said I probably wouldn't have fun and that I probably wouldn't do good at all. Did that stop me from being super excited? Nope. I went and let me tell you.. I had a BLAST. The weather was bad, well so they say. But I was SOOO warm and cozy and I got the hang of things really fast. Unlike, Larena.. cough, cough. Hahahaha kidding! But I thought it was the funnest thing ever and falling down didn't even hurt! :)
December 10th: I had so much fun last time that I couldn't wait to go again! So of course on my next day off of work, I went! Which was earlier today. :) The weather was the best that it could get, so they say again.. The best day for riding and so on. Did not go so well for me this time though.. It's like I forgot everything I learned the time before. I fell, I fell a lot. And this time it hurt. It hurt, a lot. There was no pow. It was just hard snow. I bent my arms when I fell in ways I couldn't even imagine. I think I actually pulled muscles in both arms. I bruised my tailbone and the side of my hip. I got hurt. (Which is not unlikely for me.) I got some new snowboard boots and they happened to be too small for my board. So I had to rent a board. My toes got squished like no other. The sun was bright and it was hot out. Of course, I got sunburned. I had a headache.
But despite ALL of that. I loved it. I learned new things. I pushed myself. I am gaining new muscle. I am being active. I am at peace when I am there. I found a new sport that I love. And I can't wait to keep going!!
